The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida has released an official notification (Advt. Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Candidates aspiring to apply for the GIMS Staff Nurse recruitment must fulfill essential educational qualifications, age bounds, and selection standards as outlined below:
- Educational Qualification Route 1 (B.Sc Nursing): 4-year B.Sc. Nursing or 2-year Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), along with valid registration as a Nurse and Midwife.
- Educational Qualification Route 2 (GNM Diploma): Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from an INC-recognized institute, valid Nurse & Midwife registration, and minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital having at least 50 beds after completing the qualification.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years as of 01 July 2026. Upper age relaxation is admissible to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen belonging strictly to Uttar Pradesh domicile as per state government regulations.
- Selection Stages: Candidates will sit for a 100-mark objective CBT (80% theoretical and 20% practical knowledge). Shortlisted candidates based on CBT merit will proceed to biometric/document verification and medical examination. Qualifying marks are set at 40% for UR/OBC/EWS and 35% for SC/ST. A negative marking of 0.25 marks applies per incorrect response.

Reservation and relaxation benefits are strictly restricted to Uttar Pradesh domicile candidates. Non-domicile candidates will be evaluated under the Unreserved (UR) category. Category certificates (OBC/EWS) must be issued on or after 01 April 2026. Female applicants must provide caste certificates issued from their father's side. Ensure that all credentials, including High School Certificate details used for Date of Birth verification, are accurately provided during registration, as editing rights are limited after final submission.
