Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a premier public sector bank headquartered in Chennai, has officially published recruitment notification Advt. No. HRMD/SS/RECT/01/2026-27 for filling up 25 vacancies of Security Guard in the Subordinate Staff Cadre. Eligibility & Selection Criteria

- Discharge & Character Standard: The candidate must possess an "EXEMPLARY" character conduct upon discharge from defence services. Medical fitness classification at the time of discharge must be SHAPE-1 or AYE equivalent.
- Age Bounds: Base age range is 18 to 26 years as of 01.08.2026. Upper age relaxations are granted by adding actual defence service plus 3 years (subject to an overall upper age cap of 45 years).
The Selection Process comprises three structured stages:
- Online Objective Test: Evaluates English, Aptitude, Arithmetic, and Psychometric knowledge (80 Marks total).
- Local Language Test: Tests practical proficiency in Tamil (20 Marks).
- Physical Fitness Test: Held in Chennai, comprising Push-Ups (30 marks), Sit-Ups (30 marks), 1 KM Run (30 marks), and Drill movements (10 marks). Candidates must score a minimum of 65 overall to qualify, and physical test scores will be added to the final merit score.

- Disabled Ex-Servicemen and Dependants of Servicemen killed in action are excluded from this specific recruitment exercise.
- Candidates must be prepared to work on round-the-clock shift duties (24x7x365 basis) including night shifts and routine subordinate duties assigned by management.
